Impro Theatre’s Main Company creates completely improvised, full-length plays in the styles of the world’s greatest playwrights, authors, and composers. With no pre-planning or prepared scenarios, the performers combine verbal dexterity and robust physicality to bring character and plot to life in an instant, making each Impro Theatre show unique and unlike any other theatrical experience. Founded as Los Angeles Theatresports in 1988, Impro Theatre has evolved from a successful short-form improv troupe into a critically acclaimed improvisational theatre company.

GENRE: Improv theatre

WHAT TO EXPECT: spontaneous wit, swooning romance, and delightfully scandalous surprises in a Regency romp where no two performances are ever the same.

About the Pre-Show Talk

This is your chance to sit with the actors and Artistic Director up close, hear about their creative process, and ask the questions that audiences always want to know, chief among them: how do they possibly do it? Their ability to combine verbal dexterity, physical storytelling, and ensemble collaboration to build rich characters, sweeping romance, and spontaneous wit in real time is nothing short of extraordinary.

Facilitator Catherine-Mercedes Judge, co-founder of Shift Focus Narratives and debut filmmaker of Resistance Sticks, brings a filmmaker's curiosity to the conversation, drawing out the stories behind the story.
